Support the ancient art found all over the world

Only discovered in 1994, the paintings in Chauvet are well preserved, evocative and extremely old. They date from the at least 30,000 years ago. Discovery of the paintings and their antiquity put to rest any notion that paleolithic people were cognitively primitive.

The actual cave is sealed for preservation’s sake but there is an excellent reproduction nearby.
