Grotte Pair-non-Pair, France

Discovered in 1881 by a farmer who’s cow fell into the entrance, the cave of Pair-non-Pair contains engravings (featuring horses, ibexes, cervidae, mammoths) from the Aurignacian Period (between 33 000 and 26 000 years old). It stands out as one of the few places that an average person can see original Aurignacian artwork.
