Rock Hawk, Georgia USA
Rock Hawk is the smaller of two effigy mounds found in Putnam County, Georgia. Unlike the larger Rock Eagle, it has not been restored. There is a large tower to allow aerial views of the mound. Rock Hawk is constructed of quartzite boulders. It is thought to date from the Woodland Period of Southeastern precontact archaeology.
Rock Eagle is owned by the University of Georgia and managed for public visitation.
